JV Game Summaries
May
21 Sanford 1 Westbrook 3 Record (6-6)
Chad
Egeland pitched a complete game allowing just 3 hits and
striking out 10. Driving in runs for Westbrook were Kevin
Moody, Andrew Coulombe and Zach Russell. Recording multiple
hits were Tyler Rand and Andrew Coulombe with 2 singles
each. The long ball was a hard hit double for Adam Slivinsky.
Chad dominated the batters and was in control throughout
the game.
May 17 Scarborough 2 Westbrook 6 (5-6)
Adam
Slivinsky went 5 and two thirds innings, allowing just
2 runs on 7 hits and striking out 4. Mike Anthony came
in for relief. Mike shut down Scarborough, facing just
4 batters in 1 and a third innings, allowing no hits and
earning the win. The defense ended the game with a 5-4-3
double play. Westbrook trailed the entire game. Entering
the top of the 7th trailing 2-1, the never give up Blazes
step into the batters box for a hitting display. They
pounded out 5 runs on 5 hits to take the lead 6-2. Belting
the ball for singles in the 7th were Tyler Kelly, Bryan
Crouse, Nick Finocchiaro, Chad Egeland (bunt) and a double
by Mike Anthony. A great come from behind win for the
Blue Blazes.
Season
Highlights:
The
Westbrook Blazes JV Team has produced many enjoyable moments
so far this season. Mark Dlivinsky pitched the 1st game
of the season and had a NO-NO going into the last inning
with 2 out before it was broken up. Chad Egeland pitched
a gem against Thornton, a 3 hit shutout. Many defensive
highlights have been recorded. The last game against Thornton
was also highlighted with the offensive power display
by Tyler Kelly, he went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, a single
and 2 rbi's.
