Hello everyone,

I am sending this email out to everyone that has been associated with supported or has an interest in Westbrook Baseball. There is an opportunity to use a section of the Westbrook Community Center and put in a hitting facility. This facility would be open to all Westbrook baseball and softball players. The Community Center would be running the facility, and would be charging a small per hour fee, to maintain and replenish the equipment. It would be open until 8:00 pm every night. I have just gotten 2 pitching mounds from Will Sanborn, Head Baseball Coach at St. Josephs College donated to us.

The cost to get this off and running would be $2500.00, which would set up 2 cages, with L-screens and hitting mats, baseballs, softballs, and wiffle balls and hitting tees. I am asking for donations to help get this started, any amount would be greatly appreciated and help us get to our goal. Checks should be made payable to City of Westbrook and mailed to 367 Main Street, Westbrook, Attn: Greg Souza.

This facility will be NON-PROFIT and will give our softball and baseball players a substantially less expensive place to go and work on their hitting and pitching as well as allowing a place for tryouts, and a practice place for teams if the weather is not appropriate for outside play. The Community Center already has a preseason clinic set up for Little League baseball and softball players set for late January.

I think this is a HUGE OPPORTUNITY for the future of the Baseball and Softball programs in the City of Westbrook. I am hoping that you feel the same way and will help us make this become a reality. I already have commitments from 2 Westbrook companies for $100.00 each.

Thank you,

Greg Souza
